I noticed this the other day in Edgy. I was transfering files to my phone over a USB cable. The phone connects as a mass storage device. The transfer progress dialog is done in a couple seconds, but it obviously hasn't finished copying. One time I removed the device and was given a wanring to

I have noticed this too - the problem is the user might not realize this delayed write (async?) behavior is used and think their files have finished copying when in fact it hasn't actually started. Possibly a dialog should pop up when a USB disk is mounted with something like This device uses
