I have the same problem on the same server. I join a screenshot to this comment. You can see poulllouc who joined the channel before I get disconnected (which happened because I opened the idle debug log) and when I reconnect myself he is not listed although I know there's at list 20 other persons on this channel. Thanks for your bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better. The contact list is expandable on the right hand side of the screen. Please check there and see if anything shows up.
