appears. Clicking on OK to accept the cookie does not close the popup.

xsetroot. However it does not show anymore folder icons :-(

I'm having this problem as well. It only reports the time remaining of 1
battery, not the sum of both batteries. I have attached the requested
files from my computer as well. I'm running a Dell D820 with an 86.6wh
main battery and a 46.6wh media bay battery. The main battery is about
1/2 dead, the

audio CD using the FEISTY distro.

/home/username directory to /home/username.old and created a new
/home/username, restarted (to clear the settings daemon) and in the

I do not believe this is a NFS issue because I receive the same issue
using smbfs mounted in /media/remotedrive. Nautilus fails to respond
when the network becomes unavailable.

Chalk this one up to user ineptitude! Spent a part of the day
yesterday installing the latest version on NVidia dirver and tools
for Linux. Once that was done and I could actually control my screen
resolution - Evolution was all readable.
Not sure what/where the issue I had was coming from.
I freshly installed 9.10 and reimported some music and pictures.
Steps for me to reproduce this are:
1. Open my home directory /home/ben
2. Navigate to the /home directory using gui
3. Right click on /ben OR click to open /ben
GUI is pretty dead, with Right click the app can go inactive

This is happening to me too. It just started about a week ago. I have
four icons in my notification area immediately after I log in; wireless,
battery/power, bluetooth and volume control. Sometimes of of the icons
will have a non-operational double that takes the place of one of the
other icons
I am also unable to reproduce this on Karmic (9.10).
I am able to reproduce this consistently on Intrepid and Jaunty (8.10 and 9.04)
I will continue testing and update shortly.

Binary package hint: evolution
When I click the evolution icon on the desktop the application appears to start
- bottom line says starting, mouse is turning wheel, etc. After some 30-90
seconds those indicators go away - with no apparent evidence of application
starting.
For some reason, this stopped happening for me in the last few weeks.
I'm not sure if there was an update that fixed this, or if it is just a
coincidence, but I used to have this problem on nearly every boot.

The real question is; who actually likes login sounds? I can see
maybe the first time you login after installing Ubuntu, or maybe the
first time after upgrading to a new release, but EVERY SINGLE TIME you
log in? Why is that even remotely desirable?

in my case it happens when i am trying to install it as user root
when upgrading per
sudo aptitude dist-upgrade it worked.

Meantime, it's easy to install gthumb and set that to open your GIF's.
Nice to see I won't have to do this with Lucid. Thanks guys :) It's so
easy to complain, but anyone using this can see that vast improvements
are taking place - and most people just don't appreciate how huge this
task is.

Having the same issue on a 12.04 laptop. I have a synergy client set to
start up with the system; the behavior only appears while the machine is
connected to the (Win7) synergy server. I can't seem to find a
