I use English and Russian layouts, and separate layout for separate
windows. It is extremely difficult to remember which layout was switched
on when my computer locks the screen even if I don't go for a coffee
break. Since there is no indication of the active layout whatsoever in

If you don't have the panel expanded, and you try to set the position to
Top, Bottom, Left or Right, the panel will be positioned at random.
Currently you have to expand the panel first, then set the position,
then uncheck the expand feature
This issue does not appear on my Hardy Heron (8.04) Beta. So marking
this issue as resolved makes the list shorter ;-)

I guess it won't solve by itself :)
On the other hand I need terminal with tabs... I use 5-6 consoles at a time
with gnome. Using konsole under gnome does not seem right..
Installing konsole on purely gnome system means adding a ton of libs I don't
need and this will eat my disk, crawl the
, quite new, very fast.
So far, this bug hasn't shown up, but if you know the conditions that cause
this rollover,
then I'd be happy to watch out for it as I develop the VMware's version which I
think I'll continue to use, for now.

gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in

Manually created menu item in Gnome disappears from Gnome, Ubuntu 10.04 (64
bit).after the system is rebooted.
Menu items in Gnome should not go away one the system is shutdown and started
again.
Here are the steps to reproduce the problem :

@Dmitry Shachnev i was able reproduce bug in 2.32.0-0ubuntu4 (and ubuntu3 ,
ubuntu2 from Chris Coulson).
gnome-settings-daemon_2.32.0-0ubuntu3 from maverick-proposed work fine, no bug.

Does somebody know, how does the Keyboard Preferences / Layout Options
feature of gnome work? I mean:
* does it run xmodmap behind the scene?
* every time you change something in the Keyboard Preferences dialog
* plus every time you start the session
* does it manipulate XKB layouts?

The same in gutsy. Maybe there is a way to change shortcuts for tree
collapsing and expanding to just left and right like it was in older
versions? Because it looks not so userfriendly as it might be...
