Same here. Setting Master level to 0% does not mute the sound. According to alsamixer, PCM is set to max : PCM [dB gain=12.00, 12.00] Master is set to min : Master [dB gain=-46.50, -46.50] And sound still comes out of the soundcard at a pretty good level. Same with PCM at min and Master at

What's very curious about this is you can get some weird behavior. Open up a movie in totem, then turn your system volume to 0. You'll still hear sound. But, strangely, that sound will then get quieter when you lower the totem volume, even though in theory everything should be muted. What
