Ok, triggered issue running Lubuntu.
Ran GtkPerf on a freash startup with no other apps running. Started
Firefox, browsed news sites (guardian, bbc). Started Totem, played local
video. Started Evince, opened local PDF form which triggered the issue.

That rules out the obvious causes such as GPU hangs. Is that
reproduction script as simple as you can make it? i.e. does just loading
firefox and browsing a single website enough to bring the system to its
knees, or just totem etc?

I just noticed... X is in the 'D' process state That should never
happen! Basically the only times where we do anything uninterruptible is
during a modeset.
Maybe a drm.debug=6 dmesg during the slow time will help?

Thanks, I've just run into this as well. For reference, the bug appeared
because I made PyXDG stricter about parsing .desktop files. I'm aware
that the break is somewhat annoying, but I think it's ultimately better
to throw an exception than to return a potentially incorrect/incomplete

Thanks for the feedback. So it sounds like there are two bugs here.
The first is that the WiMAX device is reported as wired. The second is
that the actual wired devcie, AR8162, is not working with the upstream
kernels. That is probably related to bug 927782

What's described in comment #6 happens all the time for me with 64-bit
13.04 on a MacBookAir 5.2. It definitely occurs after a suspend,
possibly in other circumstances.
