Ok, when I put
print proxies
the line before if proxies: and I run /etc/cron.daily/update-notifier
manually, the proxies are printed out correctly. When I leave it to run
via cron/run-parts, I get this however:

Is this due to run-parts or the cron
No audio input on Precise (12.04) through the audio analog input.
Also in Sound Settings, at the Input Devices tab, theres nothing showing up.
Any clues what to do?

I removed my fglrx drivers, so I'm using open mesa drivers.

where the CPU is going? And also checking xrestop and

Compiz is not expected to be using that memory... And neither should
chrome. I think you have a resource leak emanating from mesa (or at
least mesa on behalf of the client).
The easiest way to use perf (after installing it with apt-get install
linux-tools) is sudo perf top.

Just open a new presentation, change the slide size to A6 and save the
document. Now close the document and open it again. When you now create
a new slide the text box is too big. Or just look at the master slide ;)

My initial prognosis of not working on UEFI is incorrect. I think it is
the upgrade to 13.10 or 13.04. My laptop sometimes has this same problem
and UEFI is not enabled on it. This is a very bad intermittent bug. My
computer cannot start up. I honestly do not understand why it has been
