I had the same issue on Ubuntu 14.04 and none of proposed workarounds
helped.
The way I was able to solve it was by manually restarting NetworkManager:
1) open terminal
2) type in: sudo stop network-manager
3) type in: sudo NetworkManager
And that is it! Afterwards I was able to normally connect
I forgot to tell that I have Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty.

something to do with the crashes. After uninstalling Flashplayer, I can

Laptop + external monitor connected via DisplayPort. The laptop is a haswell
based with Intel 4600 video card (+ nVidia Optimus - not used right now).
When, due to inactivity, the screen saver kicks in the monitor is turned
on. Later, when I move the mouse to

- Address bar font is HUGE, cant be changed with Xfce DPI settings anymore

I have an HP-530 laptop with Ubuntu 14.04 on it. The graphic card is
Intel 945GME x86/MMX/SSE2. The issue is that after I unplug the power
cable the screen it freezes. I can still move the mouse but that is all.
