Same here. I have no menu in the calculator. This makes the tool
useless.
There is also no menu in evince and in nautilus. But in these cases,
there is at least the gear button which shows a limited subset of
options (i.e. not completely useless). Are these issues related?

I have the same problem on the 3.13 kernels. Everytime when I install a
kernel update I get these errors. When I simply reboot my machine the
kernel seem to be working fine as it should be.

When changing workspaces, the controls of a maximised unfocused window
sometimes get rendered behind the controls of that window.
1. Maximise a window (I use firefox)
2. Focus another window
I would suggest that anyone wishing a full function 14.04 use the
14.04.1 image then update. That will give you 14.04.2 minus the neutered
unique named mesa build.
The lts-utopic kernel can be installed separately if wishing.
(- log outs can be slow with Intel gpu but fixable with above kernel
This is not limited to encrypted installs. I just did a plain manual
install and got the same thing.
