I think this bug is Unity related. I created a new user and the bug
doesn't exist...so i presume some config file in my home directory is
corrupted or wrong.

My exact situation concerns another usb modem from ZTE - MF110
I wanted to mention that it worked pretty well under KUbuntu 15.04
(NetworkManager 0.9.7).
Furthermore, after trying the first connect sequence the device cannot
be polled for signal monitoring.
At least, does anyone have a clue how
