Select a text block (not a file; important) in other application, drag
it over an chromium window. A SiegFault occurs.
This happen when dragging a text block from sertain applications. I've found
two of them:
1) PhpStorm
2) LibreOffice Calc

If upstream logic is not working, please at least file a bug upstream.
P.S. I have nothing against your patch, though I also don't have rights

This should be configurable via unity-control-center, is it not? If not,
can you reproduce this behaviour in Unity (which also uses unity-
settings-daemon and unity-control-center)?

I think I don't have enough time (and code knowledge) to debug this, so
patches welcome.
It has stopped working since the api changes in eds-3.7.x.
Does that mean that e-d-s broke API compatibility?

When you change workspace, your apps are left on previous workspace. To
return to that workspace, you should click on the workspace indicator or
use Ctrl+Alt+Arrow key combination.
You also say that you can't open any apps. Can you please run gnome-
panel --replace in the terminal, trigger this
