I think I found out the cause, I had Ubuntu Dock enabled while having
Dash to Panel enabled. Ubuntu Dock may have been turned on during

When searching after pressing the super key, gnome shell restarts/hangs

gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast() from
st_label_set_text()
I found an alternate implementation of prime-select, and modified it
slightly. With it, if I switch to intel mode , then reboot I manage to
login with the integrated graphics getting used as expected.

Looks like libGLX is only lodable in nvidia mode, some library paths may
be missing in the intel prime profile
