Ubuntu Single Sign-On GUI not showing login
This bug affected me, but got past it by adding "nouveau.modeset=0"
after the text "quiet splash" in the bootparameters for Ubuntu in the
grub menu.

The problem didn't go away after doing a fresh installation of Ubuntu 18.10.
I have to first disconnect and then connect my Sony MDR-1000x to get the A2DP
profile to work.

I'd imagine a workaround could be to have a hook for suspend write to
the framebuffer, but I failed at getting this working when I tried today
(put a script in /usr/lib/systemd/system-sleep to invoke eog in
fullscreen).
Regarding the comment above about this being fixed in "certified"
laptops,
I think that fixed it.
To add `amdgpu.dc=0`, you must edit your grub configuration

Where is that configured?

I installed Peek using Snap and due to all the problems using Snap, the author
of Peek recently pulled support for Snap packages. So the fix to this is
1. Don't use Wayland
2. Use non-snap packages, for instance Flatpak.
After a fresh install of 18.04 Bionic, my USB wireless adapter didn't
show up. Running 'lsusb' provided the device ID for the adapter as
0bda:a811 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Cross-referencing that ID with
'Ubuntu 18.04' I eventually fell down the rabbit hole at askubuntu.com
and landed here:

drm/nv50: Fix backlight not working when PWM_DIV is uninitialised (v5)
Patch modified to work with 4.17.9.

I got the patch working in 4.9.6. But in 4.17.3 the backlight controls
no longer work after suspend.
Wierdly though, the "nvapeek" output is the same after suspend as before:
