I have the same issue on 16.04. Using Online Accounts to add my Google account does give me my Drive files. But the calendar is not listed (options only for files & photos). The Gnome Calendar is empty. Thunderbird + Lightening + Google Intergration does give calendar access in Thunderbird. --
