12.04 final release. In that case its a possible issue with Gnome
Control Panel rather than Unity Greeter. As the control panel is what

Yes windows running on the same machine, and location/using the same
internet connection.
Not everything seems to be handled by google. If I go to www.google.com
google will redirect me to www.google.com.au which is fine but the if I
use the searchbox I'm sent to www.google.com search results.
After downloading the linux build from mozilla I can confirm it
redirects searches to the Australian site. Thanks for all your help, I
will continue hassling the devs over at Ubuntu now.

gtk2 applications have not been written expecting grips to be there.

The reasons some grips are gone in 12.04 is probably because the application

However there are workarounds such as customising the toolbar. The

This can probably be ignored for the following reasons.
1. Its not Firefox's fault that it did not leave space for this grip.
Grips have been back ported to GTK2 in Ubuntu they are normally only a
part of GTK3 (firefox is a gtk2 app)
2. In Firefox 12 it is planned to remove the download manager
