I think I have found a replacement for Nautilus, it is called Nemo (!). From its webpage (http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/?p=198): Nemo is a complete fork of Nautilus 3.4 and its goal is to extend the Cinnamon user experience to desktop and file management. It is included in Ubuntu's 13.10
