I have a vertical panel with window switcher in 13.10 gnome classic.
This is ok when on single screen on booted with dual screen.
When booted without external screen and then docked, the window switcher
disappear.

You are using a version of glib2.0 that is incompatible with the version
of gdk-pixbuf Ubuntu 12.04. You probably installed it from a PPA.
You need to revert the glib2.0 packages to the versions that come with

Last night I upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10. It went surprisingly well.
Just about everything works except that I lost my shutdown icon and the
hibernate selection in my sessions menu. I was able to hibernate via the
terminal so I know it stil works but I

better. The best solution now is to do a fresh reinstall of your system.
Otherwise, please execute the following command, as it will automatically
gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
That's interesting: clearing the session cache seems to have improved
things. I wonder if there is some odd interaction between the session
cache and Chromium?
After clearing the cache, the Chromium icon in the bar at top,
representing the background process, reappears whenever I reboot, but no
Epson's server is fixed now. Please try again and tell whether the
problem is solved.
