Ok so sounds like you did a fresh install of 20.04 and then launched
libreoffice (should be installed just fine ith a non-minimal install
like you did). Perhaps something went wrong with your install, but
everything went find for your VM install.
Could you please provide the journalctl output
also the custom dpi setting for the desktop is somehow not passed on (in
my case xfce). chromium-browser on a 4k display is readable only by
setting the fonts to ridiculous sizes which makes font rendering broken
in many web pages.

Please disregard my previous comment. Looking at the code, I realize
that the maintainer packaged the upstream gnome-software "3.36.0" tag,
not the "gnome-3-36" branch, which makes a lot more sense indeed.
So even though the fix is made upstream, it is NOT YET released, and

My guess offhand is that this is some kind of hardware issue.

The Additional Drivers windows (and the ubuntu-drivers command) in my
system only list nvidia-driver-390 and nvidia-340 for installation with
my Nvidia GeForce GT 750M.
However, there are newer versions that can be installed through the
Synaptic Package Manager and are

I have altered the title and text to reflect that per the changelog, the
patch for this issue is present as of 1.49.2+dfsg-4. However, given the
testing 1.49.2+dfsg-8 has received in Disco Dingo, that package may
still be the better update candidate.

Although, I found that the standard-deviation in powerstat reduced when
running on intel under consistent settings (1 chrome tab running
YouTube). NVIDIA (av: 33.76 Watts, std: 11.07) and INTEL (av: 31.60
Watts, std: 2.36).
