I tried Banshee and found it could not connect to the synology music
server at all. As probable cause an incompatibility with iTunes was
given. So the Rhythmbox problem might be the same. I will try mt-daap on

Three-dotted icon is not documented

1. An icon theme file should not be a hard dependency. How would a different
icon theme provide alternate icons?
2. The 4 symbolic icons referred to are part of the now-defunct User menu,
which no longer draws the icons anyway:
