I suspended Ubuntu 14.04 and after waking up from suspend, there was a complete
freeze, I could not do anything, not even switching to a virtual terminal.
Mouse input worked in the beginning but after a few seconds nothing worked
anymore.

A correction about comment #2 : wpa_cli terminate can make the connection
work after the system is woken up. It does however not work at the time sleep.d
is processed. So it seems wpa_cli can't connect to wpa_supplicant at that time.

I just experienced this bug on an upgrade from Xubuntu 13.10 to 14.04
with the proprietary Nvidia drivers.
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf had both greeter-session and user-session
defined as 'null' (user-session=). Manually setting the right values
fixed the issue.

Christopher, I did reinstall 14.04 from ubuntu-14.04-beta2-desktop-
amd64.iso. Also instaled nvidia-331-updates drivers and I still get

After idling for some time my desktop locks. When I return and enter the
password, it unlocks and I briefly see my desktop and open applications
before it locks itself again. After entering the password (again), it
seems to work fine.

I reinstalled 14.04 from ubuntu-14.04-beta2-desktop-amd64.iso. Also instaled
nvidia-331-updates drivers and I still get freezes. :-( I also did a full
memory test without any errors.
Also after installing ubuntu-14.04-beta2-desktop-amd64.iso I was asked to
install latest
