After login, the touchpad is detected and shown in xinput --list and in
/proc/bus/input/devices. But any movements or clicks are not detected.
The really weird part is that the touchpad STARTS working after waking
from suspend.
The touchpad works flawlessly in Windows 10

i even had to check system monitor to find out this was called "Déjà

to download an iso, burn a dvd, backed up my files to external HDD and
did a fresh install of version 16.04.1 on both laptops. So far

Since 2012 I have worked around this issue by using ODBC to connect to
MySQL from LibreOffice.
However I have now upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 which no longer has the ODBC
package libmyodbc so I have had to revert to the mysql connector to
allow connecting tC MySQL tables using LibreOffice Base

The top output doesn't implicate repowerd. Note, however, that the top
output is incomplete so we don't have the whole picture. For future
reference you can take textual snapshots of top with:
top -b -n10 -d1 > /tmp/top.txt
(Write to file 10 textual snapshots with 1 sec delay between snapshots)
I would like to test it, but I get compilation errors when I try to
build it, unpatched (as retrieved by apt source network-manager-gnome):

d3b-null: because it wasn't fixed upstream before jun 21st, and noone
did the necessary bisect to find the commits before this week. I haven't
been able to reproduce it on my hw.
