This is a renewal of bug #994240 . Since upgrade to ubuntu 12.04 one of
the gnome support functions of XFCE is broken, i.e. nautilus -n does not
work anymore.
However, bug #994240 is constantly closed by a guy named Sebastien
Bacher who ignorantly insists on that this is

Until ubuntu 11.10 there was a lot for nautilus -n to do, i.e. handle
the desktop background, place the icons, make the icons thumbnails of

I can start nautilus -n then.
Until 11.10 the desktop did not need to be stopped before.
So it is a problem of XFCE. If gnome support is enabled in the settings,
it should not start xfdesktop before nautilus. That's the problem to
