A computer is 50% useless without sound. You don't seem to be in hurry
to roll this back to end my misery. This is the second time this has
happened, the first had to be fixed by an engineer. Seriously thinking
of using Windows, or seeing an engineer again because of your update.

Thank you for taking the time to review this.
Everything worked fine until I upgraded from 17.10 to 18.
I will try this fix and if it doesn't work I will attempt to reinstal
17.10 and not upgrade

input output error when burning blu-ray discs (bd-r)
The problem seems to be with the ocaml-doc package. I removed this
completely, and the subsequent errors go away. Re-installing ocaml-doc
re-creates the problem.
Summary:

are now installed.
ocaml-doc is not.

Sorry, this was reported over 7 years ago, I doubt it has any relevance
any more. My old Mac Mini is long since packed away and probably too
slow to be worth using with today's software. Thanks for taking a look

Happens to me with my NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M. Happens even using usb
mouse. I am using dual screen and one screen freezes the other dies. I
am connecting by minhd port because my screen does not have hdmi
enabled.

I have a similar card ( GK208M [GeForce GT 740M] and a similar problem.
I could not install the proprietary driver automatically. I am running
Ubuntu 14.04 Gnome.
