[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1241857] Re: installing samba from sharing options stops responding
I can confirm this. The way it works is terrible, because the shared folder will appear on the network just fine, but then when you try to open it, it just fails without permissions. Speaking of which, since now we have some breathing room on the DVD, what about including samba and libpam in the CD? I know it's not a very common use case, but they are really tiny packages and they would make life easier for people (not having to type a password, not having to restart the session etc.). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus-share in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241857 Title: installing samba from sharing options stops responding Status in “nautilus-share” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ok so i will describe the steps utils the bug appears. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1210910] [NEW] Mouse settings don't work in some sessions.
Public bug reported: In Raring, in some sessions, the mouse and touchpad settings are not what they're supposed to be: too slow, scrolling doesn't work as well as two-finger tapping to open context-menu and keyboard cancellation when typing. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 882307] Re: [list-view] After copying text from a rename entry, file copy menus items are broken
João In the bug I'm talking about, you ARE able to copy the file, but the option will look like it doesn't work, because it's gray instead of black. I'm unable to reproduce it now and I can't reboot (it doesn't always happen), but there's a clear way to do it, and that's how I originally reported it: 1. Save a file to a Ubuntu One synchronized folder. 2. Wait for the file to upload and the green checkmark to appear. 3. Right click the file and click Publish. 4. Right click again and look for the Copy web link (or something like that) menu item. The item will be gray, though it works. 2012/5/11 Joao Leonor 882...@bugs.launchpad.net Hi Pablo. I did has you said and I'm still unable to reproduce the bug in 12.04 I even tried other steps, but I was always able to copy/paste the file. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 882307] Re: [list-view] After copying text from a rename entry, file copy menus items are broken
Hi Joao. Sorry for taking too long (I wasn't home). So, yes, I'm still able to reproduce it, but I noticed the steps described here are incomplete. After doing what's written there, you need to copy again the file (not its name) and try to paste it somewhere else. The option works, but it's gray, as if not enabled, though it works. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 956031] [NEW] Copy web link item from the Ubuntu One menu is gray even when active
Public bug reported: Note: I'm reporting this as a nautilus issue only so that apport will collect some info that might be useful from my computer. This is probably a Ubuntu One issue, but as I've seen a bug that looks exactly like this before on nautilus (but with the Paste item), I'll leave it like this. Also, this is not a problem with radiance theme or something like this. It happens to Ambiance too. The problem: When you click Publish in a Ubuntu One syncronized folder's file and the item gets published, the copy web link item doesn't look like it's activated, even though it is and can be clicked. This is confusing and not obvious. I'm attaching a screenshot. Notice that the option Stop publishing is active (Parar a publicação in portuguese) but the Copy web link option is gray (even thougth I can click it). Purging ureadahead and reinstalling it didn't change a thing either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/888917 Title: Login time takes almost 1 minute on Oneiric Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Time from LightDM login to the actual usable desktop is too long, much longer than Natty's, taking something like 40s~60s and, after that, it still takes a little time to things like clicking the Ubuntu button bring the dash or clicking Firefox's icon making it twinkle (kind of reminds me of Windows...). It doesn't seem to be a problem with every Ubuntu installation. Oneiric on my friends laptop is as fast as Natty was in mine. lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 lspci: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub (rev 02) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 01) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 01) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 01) 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 01) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 01) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev e1) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 01) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) IDE Controller (rev 01) 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation N10/ICH7 Family SATA IDE Controller (rev 01) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family SMBus Controller (rev 01) 01:05.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 871999] [NEW] LightDM login screen mistakes NumLock for CapsLock
Public bug reported: If I turn NumLock on in Oneiric's login screen, an exclamation mark appears telling me that Caps Lock is activated. This mark also (correctly) appear when Caps Lock is activated. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 865062] [NEW] PT-BR translation problem
Public bug reported: There are two problems in the translation of the string that reads something like Backups will be kept until there's little space at the backup location. I don't know the exact english phrase, but it's clear that it's wrong even for someone who only understands english. My suggestion is that it is changed to Cópias de segurança serão mantidas até que haja pouco espaço restante no local de cópia de segurança.
