The Ubuntu login screen is tiled on all displays, not mirrored, making
it nearly impossible to login when using an external monitor if the
laptop screen is not visible.
There appears to be no available control to alter the display settings

most of the screen real estate, only a few people would auto-hide to
have the extended desktop space.

Since it seemed like this issue was coming from bluez or blueman, I did
some package removal tests and was surprised by the results. These were
done in order, which all packages removed in the previous step still
removed in the following step.
1. Remove pulseaudio-module-bluetooth, no change.

To verify the bug:
1) killall gnome-software
2) lsof -p $(pidof gnome-software) | wc -l
3) Use gnome-software for a while (search for snaps, etc.)
4) Again: lsof -p $(pidof gnome-software) | wc -l
As you can seen the list of open files grows overtime.

this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1748450, so is being marked as such.
Sorry about that. I can't seem to reproduce the issue with Terminal...
Please:
1. Run 'ubuntu-bug 1760366' to help us get more information; and
2. Attach a larger screenshot of the whole Terminal window.

Yeah and that's actually good news.
I had feared the switch to Xorg by default would mean this bug wouldn't
happen often enough for us to collect good data in 18.04 (since the
related apport bug fix last week). But it turns out this will happen
plenty often enough still.
