Some developers ask about using complex toolbar controls (like a
combobox, edit field, ...) with their add-on. Currently there is only a
expensive way to use them. I created a technical paper how we can
support complex toolbar controls for add-ons much easier. Please read
the paper
I set up a connection, get my XTextDocument and render
with it.
Then later I want to put my XTextDocument back into a
frame.
This all works perfectly, but the performance is bad.
It takes about half a second for a one page document
to refresh it.
You can pretty much see the algorithmn below.

I managed to use my external C++-application to control OpenOffice under
Windows. What I now need is a button in OpenOffice to start something inside
my C++-application (or a dll of it) which should work on the actual document
the button was pressed in.
