Hi Tom,
I'm also experiencing issues with the website. I couldn't get anything
after a while.

Re: moving grooming up 1 hour today?

2018-03-19 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Hi Tom,
In that case, could we move the grooming meeting to tomorrow?
I'm flying back to Victoria from San Diego and have a tight schedule today.
It could be from 8:00AM to 10:00AM or from 2:00PM onwards (all PST).
Thank you,
Miguel

Tom, does this mean you'll grant access from now on and we have to edit the

Re: Confluence wiki page write access

2018-02-05 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Hi DJ,
This is how you gain access to JIRA/Confluence:

Once you have created an account on Confluence and JIRA, you need to
request writing permissions by sending an
email to the gene...@incubator.apache.org mailing list. You must include
your JIRA and Confluence usernames.

Be sure that you request permissions for the AriaTosca project and not
Apache Incubator.

Miguel

Information overlapping between the two repositories (ARIA-309)

2018-01-28 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Hi,

After discussing with Tom about ARIA's website, we thought it would be
a good idea to analyze the current distribution of information between the
two source repositories (code and website). I added a comment on ARIA-309,
and attached a PDF pointing out some overlapping issues. I would like to
know your opinion about where to put each piece of information. Maybe
during the
grooming meeting or via email.

Thanks,

The meeting currently being scheduled at 11:00AM EST, on Mondays. That

I leave it to Tom or someone else to discuss about possibly moving the
meeting to another time.

ARIA-400

2018-01-16 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Hi,

I'd like to help with the developer website issues in the current sprint but
I think it'd be better if we can resolve ARIA-400 first (Make
http://ariatosca.incubator.apache.org/getting-started/ point at the live
Github).

Tom, this is currently assigned to you. Could you please give me a hint
on how to get started? I'd like to help and I'm guessing this isn't about
updating
the links but doing something more advanced.

Thanks,
Miguel

Re: ARIA-354 Verified

2017-11-27 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
I'm sorry if that was confusing. I checked out the 0.1.1 tag because the
working blueprint is there.
To install ARIA, I used pip.

Just to make sure everything is clear, these are the steps I executed:

sudo pip install virtualenv
virtualenv tosca-environment
source tosca-environment/bin/activate
pip install apache-ariatosca[ssh]
git clone https://github.com/apache/incubator-ariatosca.git
cd incubator-ariatosca
git checkout tags/0.1.1
aria service-templates store examples/hello-world/helloworld.yaml
my-service-template
aria services create my-service -t my-service-template
aria executions start install -s my-service
curl http://localhost:9090

ARIA Hello World

Hello, World!

blueprint_id = my-service-template3
deployment_id = my-service2
node_id = web_app_1

Re: ARIA-354 Verified

2017-11-27 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Okay, it's working now.
I needed to check out the tag 0.1.1. The complete list of commands is:

sudo pip install --upgrade setuptools
sudo pip install apache-ariatosca[ssh]
...
aria --version
v0.1.1
...
git clone https://github.com/apache/incubator-ariatosca; cd
incubator-ariatosca
git checkout tags/0.1.1
aria service-templates store examples/hello-world/helloworld.yaml
my-service-template

Notice that in tag 0.1.1, the blueprint's name is helloworld.yaml, without
the hyphen.

Re: ARIA-354 Verified

2017-11-27 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Tom, these are the commands I executed to get "aria --version" working:

sudo pip install --upgrade setuptools
sudo pip install apache-ariatosca[ssh]
...
aria --version
v0.1.1
...
git clone https://github.com/apache/incubator-ariatosca; cd
incubator-ariatosca
aria service-templates store examples/hello-world/hello-world.yaml
my-service-template

--> error

Also, the gettingstarted.md file in the website repository is using the
wrong name for the hello-world blueprint.
It's missing the hyphen. I'll add the issue tonight.

I clone the master branch to try the hello-world example.
To install ARIA, I executed: pip install apache-ariatosca[ssh]

Thanks for that write up, Tal. I recently joined this mailing list and
already feel it's a nice and welcoming community.
I like the items in the list because even if I don't want to become a
committer, it shows me how to contribute and give something back.

Also, Thomas: I think that the website and codebase links are pointing to
the wrong sites.

Re: Error installing my-service (hello-world example)

2017-11-16 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Vish,
It's working well now on Ubuntu 16.04. It was probably because I already
had installed ARIA, so when I executed that command it
didn't cause any effect.
Thank you,
Miguel

Hi Vish,
I'm installing ARIA on Ubuntu 17.04.
I followed the instructions you mentioned but the output is the same.
Should I use Ubuntu 16.04?
Miguel

Error installing my-service (hello-world example)

2017-11-16 Thread Miguel Angel Jimenez Achinte
Hi,

My name is Miguel, I'm a PhD. student at the University of Victoria,
Canada. I'm currently doing research on Software Deployment and I'm very
interested in contributing to the ARIA project.

So far, I've been reading the existing documentation but I encountered a
problem with the hello-world example. I installed ARIA v0.1.1 and followed
the hello-world example from the README (I made sure to use the 0.1.1
version of the blueprint). When I execute the last part of the example
(aria executions start install -s my-service) this is what I get:

Starting 'install' workflow execution
web_app_1 Standard.configure started...
Executing: /tmp/tmp67bMy9-configure.sh
Execution done (exit_code=127): /tmp/tmp67bMy9-configure.sh
web_app_1 Standard.configure failed
...
repeat
...

I assume the issue here is the command 'ctx' in the script. Should I do
something extra to make it work?

If this is not the right place to post this issue, please let me know.
Thank you,
Miguel
