It's nearly time to get this as an official release and allow us to move
forward with 3.0. (or to maintain version parity with Java, 3.0.1)
3.0.1 and 2.9.2 are equal from the bugfix level, only deprecated methods are
removed. We should also consider jumping directly to 3.1.
