Build was a little bit of a challenge because of my environment (had some
weird issues with dependency versions (MX Linux)), but powered through to a
successful build and test.

Struggled a bit to build on my rig, primarily due to environment issues
more than anything else (older Ubuntu), but did build successfully and made
working binary build (tested very simple flow). Verified signature and

I think what you're saying is you are debating two options:
A) gRPC as a transport mechanism and support the deployment use cases from
the HTTP s2s document [1] to include using nifi-specific peer selection in
the client if the destination is a cluster.
