Re: Bugzilla and help users
I dont think this is a good idea, I read a few reports and I find them legitimately. Meaning some of those are well documented and agree that they should be actually solved and fixed. In the past there were complains about Bzilla not being used, and now about being overused. I agree that if they are 'how do I do this...' is something for support but crash reports seems to be a bit more technical and legitimately a bug. In the first case, I suggest to solved it, close it and send instructions to the mailing list for further asistance. On 8/21/14, Mathias Röllig mroellig.n...@gmx.net wrote: Hello! OK, I will fix this.. this should now is now fixed in download-NEXT2 looks good on http://ooo-site.staging.apache.org/download-NEXT2/ and http://www.openoffice.org/download/ - if language Catalan, Catalan [Valencia AVL] or Catalan [Valencia RACV] are choosen for version '4.1.1' meaning full download links are provided. This text is 'Only for Mac OS X version 10.7 or newer' in order to be able to notify corresponding Mac users that 4.1.0 and coming 4.1.1 are only running under Mac OS X version 10.7 or newer. For coming AOO 4.1.1 we have new languages Catalan, Catalan (Valencia RACV) and Catalan (Valencia AVL). Unfortunately, the above text is not integrated in our current translation process. Thus, I am asking for the appropriate translation for these languages 'by hand'. I already used Google translate and I got: 'Només per a Mac OS X versió 10.7 o més recent' for Catalan. I will use this translation as a fallback for the above 3 languages, if nothing better is provided as I think it is better than the English text. Thanks in advance for your support. Note: The already translated text for the other languages is available in our repository [1] as it is used for the script which can be used to generate the Update Feeds. OpenOffice MWiki and CWiki: scheduled maintenance
The OpenOffice wiki (both CWiki and MWiki, actually) will be down for scheduled maintenance by the Apache Infrastructure team later today, starting in about 1 hour (16:00 UTC). The outage is expected to last about 1 hour and is due to RAM upgrades on the server hosting the wiki (from 262GB to 326GB). It is unfortunate that this happens on the OpenOffice release day (release notes are hosted on CWiki), but hopefully the downtime will be quite short, as it happened for last week's RAM upgrades on the Forum host. We should include unbreak NL download links in the Release Plan, it always happens... The German ones are fixed. This problem is due tocustomization maintenance. There are 3 arrays in the msg_prop_l10_xx.js l10n.dl_green_box_select_box_os_values= [ ]; l10n.dl_green_box_select_box_language_values= [ ]; l10n.dl_green_box_select_box_version_values= [ ]; Set them up as above and they will take values from the main download area (in English). If this is not objectionable, most native lang maintainers would not need to deal with this problem again. The problem sites have customized entries for these which are not ijving with the current release. I suspect the offset is wrong due to arrays that expect to see languages in the same position (and due to the insertion of the new languages). yes...basically. Leaving the above arrays fully customized would require local site maintainers to add to the arrays ahead of time. But with the site buildbot broken ??? From my location, it seems fine. I just used it. At this point, I can fix some of these today the same way I did for de. I commented out what was there and added the empty arrays. No guarantees all will be taken care of today. and Infra busy with server upgrades today this cannot be fixed at the moment. New links are not active yet, but I know they will be soon. :) It looks like as if the new download is already been published and active. Intention or accident? it doesn't really matter ;-) Well the links becomes active a little bit to early because the staging bit was still set. Herbert removed it in the morning. We haven't clearly communicated the exact time but the announcement mail was always first. But anyway I don't think it is a big thing. I will prepare the mail and send it out asap... Juergen yes...this was kind of an issue. The alternative would have been to just put the changes in staging and let you commit the website along with changing the release itself. With lack of information in this regard, well, I committed this early. Thanks for your understanding and I know this can be improved. The announcement was great by the way! When I first tried to download the pt_PT language pack, I too was redirected to the ADSRVMEDIA page, which was blocked by McAfee SiteAdvisor. successful build in ubuntu Linux 14.04
Hi dev, I've fixed both the issues 124712(added -fuse_cxa_atexit option to the Linux make file) and 125475 ( issue is because of buggy toolchain g++4.9, built using g++4.8), and now the build is successful in Ubuntu Linux 14.04. Thanks, Amali.
Re: successful build in ubuntu Linux 14.04
Yes, in order to fix issue 125475, I had to downgrade to 4.8, as I read from Libreoffice bugzilla and Libreoffice website. Adding an option to the Linux.mk file solved issue 124712. Yeah, I think I've wiki account and I'll update the building guide with the list of steps for Ubuntu Linux 14.04. Thanks, Amali. Thanks, Amali. Thanks a lot for the good news! So, you had to replace (and actually downgrade) the default compiler in Ubuntu in order to build cleanly? As a start, https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO/Step_by_step should be updated with all your findings and a list of steps to build on Ubuntu 14.04. If you don't have a wiki account already, just ask and we'll create one for you. Problem with OpenOffice
My computer has been closed for about a week while I moved. Now I am trying to access my OpenOffice documents and they will not open. A blue circle spins for a moment and then disappears. The system is Windows 8. I tried to repair and/or modify the program, but it tells me to close the program first, but I can't open it!!! Then it says a fatal error has occurred and installation has failed. When I try to uninstall the program I get the same run-around. What has happened? It seems my attempts to open documents has triggered some apps. What might this be? I'd appreciate some help. M
Re: Problem with OpenOffice
Please make sure that your installation came from us at http://openoffice.org second try to delete or backup our AppData folder located here: c:\\Users\your name\Application Data\Apache OpenOffice\ Remove this folder either by zipping it for later, or just throw it on the recycle bin, and restart OpenOffice. This should take care of these probable issues and locks. If problems remain, please re-install openoffice from http://openoffice.org On 8/21/14, Bendall Books bendallbo...@gmail.com wrote: My computer has been closed for about a week while I moved.
