OpenOffice at FOSDEM 17: Call for papers
The Open Document Editors webroom is back at FOSDEM and OpenOffice presentations are of course welcome. Please submit talk proposals by 5 December 2016; please note that, due to constraints from the organizers, we won't be able to extend the deadline, so expect a reminder a few days before the deadline but do submit on time! FOSDEM is 4-5 February 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. More on the blog (since the call for papers is better suited for the blog, I've decided to go ahead and post it directly there): https://blogs.apache.org/OOo/entry/open_document_editors_devroom_at Feel free to ask here for any clarifications. If OO doesn't open a docx try AbiWord; that has opened docx documents that OO failed to open, although I have run into some docx that neither would open. -- Rory O'Farrell - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org

Writing Volunteer
Hi, I am an experienced software developer (old school!) and I am interested in becoming a technical writer. I would love to help with any writing tasks for your project. I am very good at English, and I understand the SDLC. I have written many User Guides and IT Procedures too. I am also trying to volunteer to write API documentation and Readme files for other open source software projects. I am becoming more and more familiar with HTML/CSS/Javascript and JQuery, having been on a few courses. Please let me know how I can contribute. Regards, Peter 07839 201 848
