Reinstall 4.1.3 Forbidden.

2016-10-09 Thread Dave
It is no longer possible to reinstall/repair a 4.1.3 installation under
Window without uninstalling first.
Not a release blocker for 4.1.4 but definitely a fix worth considering.

The Symantec service covers Windows binaries and Java JARs.

We have separate a service for the Apple app store (and another for the Google

Rename done.

I see the binaries under http://www.apache.org/dist/openoffice/4.1.3/
but not the source tarballs.

From my phone, I saw the source tarballs, but only some of the language

I think we may be seeing a propagation issue, and should let things

Just for information, the svn export from dist took hours. I expected it

Do we want the SourceForge files to be "staged"? This can be done after

ACK

I confirm that uploading to SourceForge is an order of magnitude faster
than uploading to SVN: the full 4.1.3 tree took less than 3 hours (while
uploading to SVN took more than 3 days).

Wow!

Maybe we should change the upload order for the next release: First
SourceForge into a "staged" and "not-mirrored" dir and then - when the
RC is approved - upload also to ASF.

This would increase the release process enormously.

Absolutely. Actually less than that is enough. I mean, if Infra is

Then Consider me in. It is something that I can fairly easy do. If you

For some literature on the ASF and the App Store you can read this long

So this is not impossible, but probably a prerequisite will be to sign

can start merging changes. OpenOffice 4.1.4 is not going to take another
year, so better start early.

If the "4.1.4 Release Manager?" thread ended with me as RM for 4.1.4,
I'll be branching aoo-4.1.4 on Tuesday (right now I'm on travel).

At some point we should formalize the process for selecting an RM.
Currently, it seems to be someone volunteers, some more people express
support, nobody opposes, and you are it. By that process, you are the
4.1.4 RM.

Yes I agree signing the package for our users would be a good step, while
the app store is the next step in this topic.

Hi,

Don't know if you had some help usually for the French translation but if
needed, I can help.
However, I've no access to the French area of the website, it would have to be
posted online by someone who has the karma.

Please let me know if I can help with a German translation of the press

You (Marcis) know the following, but let me all remember it:
Germany is a particularly important country for OpenOffice, because the cradle
