However, since we are now able to sign macOS releases and, I think, Windows ones as well, doing a 4.1.8 simply to have current signed versions of 4.1.x available does have some allure. yes, it would be indeed an advantage. However, the effort for a release is very high. With the signatures we have just a better user experience when installing on Windows and macOS. There is nothing for Linux. But we have to go through the complete build process for all platforms to have a unique number for version, release, milestone build date, etc. This is mandatory for the download webpage. IMHO it would be better when there is some more in the release that is pleasing all users. My 2ct. However we should include some new languages in the release process (this list can be discussed): - Armenian (100% UI) - Estonian (100% UI) - Kabyle (95% UI) - Ukrainian (85% UI) - Oromo (85% UI) For me the percentages are high enough to include these new languages; so we have then 46 officially supported langauges - at least when 4.2.20 is releases. I then purged LibreOffice and installed AOO 4.2.0 downloaded from https://ci.apache.org/projects/openoffice/install/41x/, version dated 2019-12-29 12:43:21 64 bit deb, en-US version. I remark that the SDK deb version was not available for download from that URL (merely a comment). SDK was not installed on my test setup. It opened the Start Center, and I was able to Open Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw (nothing else tried). After closing these, some minutes later the system announced that "soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in rtl_uString_acquire()" I will be happy to keep Xubuntu 20.04 (as updated) running on that computer and test any revisions of AOO 4.1.8 or 4.2.0 or 4.5.0 as these become available. Directly after starting AOO, "Segmentation fault". I will have to set up a new VM to give further details. Hi Jim, Just a short note: It seems that AOO crashes immediately at startup on newer Linux distros like CentOS 8, Fedora 31 or Ubuntu 19.10. We should investigate that before we think of new DevBuild. Regards, Matthias Am 03.01.20 um 18:22 schrieb Jim Jagielski: > Sub sez it all.
