Correct me if I am wrong John but I don't think you need a mentor to vote on a release candidate. Once the PPMC has concluded voting on the RC, you submit it to the IPMC per the normal process and once there are sufficient binding votes there the RC becomes a release. On Wed, Aug 9, 2017 at 11:08

The best thing you can do to start is begin having discussions out on your dev@ list instead of face to face discussion. It will require discipline and add time to decision making, but it has the effect of inviting potential community members into your team. After you have done that for a few week
