under "Dependency Tree". Biggest tree is under python-lxml , but the dependency
on python2-Cython is easily removed there.

The package was retired.
The retire script has a bug. This package should not have been retired.
What's the bug? Why should have it not been retired exactly? It didn't build
since Fedora 26.

BTW I've just orphaned it, so hopefully somebody will take it and actually make
it build.

Tough question: Would the package get any attention if it was not retired?

The breakage took ~3 several hours to notice and a 5 minute fix.
I think it was not that catastrophic.

Obviously, we can prevent this by only orphaning packages with NEW bugz, but
that doesn't really solve anything, because lot of the retired packages were
actually ASSIGNED/POST/MODIFIED (for months).

Correct. It was still failing to build.
I misinterpreted the "retire if still failing to build". This is new and
unexpected.

Of course they were, to pr
ython 3 is the default.
My opinion at least postpone this decision one or two releases to
Fedors 33/34 , many things still just work with python 2 .
As I ask repeatedly: Who will maintain the Python 2 ecosystem?

Simply replacing the "python2" line iwth "python27" is not a difficent

But it is still a completely unnecessary edit.

Hey, I have noticed that anaconda-core has a runtime dependency on
python3-coverage.
Is it some weird error, or does anaconda actually need a test coverage measuring
tool at runtime?
Thanks,
