I'm going to do some Cairo testing...
I look forward to that. Maybe some hacks would help me improve Measure
activity's (which uses Cairo for all its drawing) response time too ?

I am trying to associate a simple text file with the journal object. Within
a logging session of Measure activity, many logs are created and the file
that I am trying to associate with the journal object would basically
contain the file paths of the logs made in that session so that when the

background, to potentially provide more functionality as an o'scope?
Would it necessitate calibration?
Thanks,

Hi all,
This is a (low frequency) compiled update of all peripherals related
developments of the community.
In this issue -
* [Message1] Meet
.
OLCP just had a summer intern, Arjun Sarwal, who developed some low-cost
gadgets to plug into the mic port - temperature sensor, intrusion
detector, etc. He plans to document them and set up a framework for
documenting other similar hacks.
We also talked about an OLPC digital gadget
.
Glad to hear of these. Any one of these things can be developed/run
around/on the XO ?
thanks

How can I obtain the value of the pressure applied at any point on the

I am thinking whether I can use it(the touch pad) as a built-in pressure

John,
Even mouser catalog doesn't have the exact size we require.
The ideal would be 1.7mm(inner) and 5.5mm(outer)
Out of these two dimensions I think conforming to the inner one would
be a better bet, if we can't match both, because the spring contact
that touches the outer barrel has more
Did anyone work in the measure activity? Will it measure the input from the
power input port? Can it show the power variations coming in? Is it through
that the charging and discharging of the battery calculated?
Yes the measure activity can measure DC voltages but only in the range
0.3V to
that other Activities can also make use of.
thanks in advance.

any immediate thoughts on this ?
The main aspect being a comparison of the overheads of adding this
package on the XO vs the long term benefits of having such
functionality that other Activities can also make use of.
thanks in advance.

Seems like gtkextra has continued to be developed and was ported to
gtk2. It is also packaged in F7:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=1987
But I think that doesn't include python bindings :/
Ah yes, I was talking about the python bindings. python-gtkextra or
are about 1.5MB in matplotlib, so taking those out should
further reduce things by 1.5MB

One other comment, just a nit really: it surprised me that the mapping
of I216 to [ISO_Next_Group, ISO_Prev_Group] was put into each of the
main language files rather than once in the option file and then
reflected in the rules as needed. This wasn't true for group mappings on
my Ubuntu Linux
Perhaps someone @devel can comment...
