Re: [sabayon-dev] Release Goals?
Or 3. Same as 1. but without the freezing of packages. They still have to work when the users do the massive update of "1." after nstall, so ithout freezing, we'd know that there are no hickups. On 04/03/2018 12:47 AM, Jerrod Frost wrote: I'm looking for a discussion on how we feel about releasing. A few options have been presented. We can: 1. Delay Release, make a few package bumps, and polish release with a Goal of 18.05 (mostly remaining frozen) 2. Clean up and Release ASAP with 18.04 (Unfreeze and allow updates to flow) I'm curious what the rest of the team thinks? I like the idea of Delaying release to polish up. We can switch to Uniform Icons across all spins, switch LightDM's Greeter to Slick-greeter, etc. We could take the chance to wow the users. The downside is we'd hit users with a wave of updates right after fresh install due to long freeze. We'd also be delaying the release so some sort of update to our users of our current status would also be needed in our blog/news section. So are we looking more to the deadline of 18.04 or are we looking to the image of polished environment for users? Thanks, Darksurf
Re: [sabayon-dev] GRUB needs upgraded. Other suggestions...
I don't see any point in dropping kernels from the repository, unless we're running out of space. There is always some peripheral device that worked better with the "previous kernel". Re: [sabayon-dev] Testing DAILY ISO
Please don't! Its much easier for those who want tapping to enable it than it is for those who have problems with it(like me, who clicks all over the place by mistake with it enabled) to disable it. One of the best things with Linux is that stuff ain't enabled by default. I assume "touchpad click" means tapping, ie the same as clicking a mouse button by tap anywhere on the touchpad However. Make it easy for people to enable it if they want it. Agree. Just a few months ago an update killed my wifi, saying it was off by the hardware switch, which it wasn't, since it worked before the update and worked in windows. [sabayon-dev] Raspberry Pi
I saw when scrolling through dailys that we got a few isos for armv7, like BeagleBoard, BeagleBone, EfikaMX and Pandaboard. So my question is if anyone been thinking about creating a Sabayon for the Raspberry Pi. Or perhaps if someone could help me do it, when my Raspberry Pi arrives(probably in a few months). Raspberry Pi is a $25/$35 Arm board and as far as I've seen, very popular. It got released last week. If it becomes the hit I think it will, it might be good to have a Sabayon for it, right now there is a Debian and an Arch dist for it. http://www.raspberrypi.org/faqs There you can find info about it if interested. // Curse
Re: [sabayon-dev] Raspberry Pi
Yes, the initial run was sold out, before the page was accessible for me. Hehe, I had set my alarm clock to be up to order but the webpages to both stores were overrun by the millions(?) that wanted one.. ATM it seems like the next batch will be delivered in may/june. You can sign an interested to buy thing in both stores, to get a mail when available. // Curse On 2012-03-06 21:51, Paul Pritchard wrote: I believe their initial run is sold out - and it sold out very quickly.
