Hope this helps.

Gary,
Thank you for the feedback. Using ARQ systems like you did we have also noticed
that faster PSK modes show better performance as in less repeat request than
slower ones.
Your first theory is the one we believe is the most likely contributor for the
ARQ links in general benefiting from f
Tony,
Thank you for taking the time to perform the tests.
My anecdotal evidence is at odd with these results.
So the only way I add value to this discussion is to perform the field test in
a more controlled way.
Thanks again and best 73s,
John

veral times, interleaving the modes so that in average it
would be unlikely to be just propagation. Mode1, Mode2, Mode3, Mode4 then again
Mode1, Mode2, Mode3 etc... repeated say 5 times. Then taking the average result
for comparison.

The other option is to join the pskmail list here
http://www.freelists.org/archive/pskmail and send an email to request a sked.
Having an operator in front of the server for the first time is of great help.
Hope this helps,

Hi Sven,
I can only report on one implementation years ago with a Tandy TRS-80 which
processor probably had about the same power as an entry level MCU of today.
The detection circuit was an analog PLL with a pair of passive filters at the
front. It worked reasonably well, with good sensitivity
John,
With Fldigi as modem you can use Psk63 and maybe (untested) psk63FEC for more
robustness but about 1/2 the speed of psk63.

Hi Tony,
Thank you for the simulation results. I will report any field results for PSKR
modes in NVIS conditions.

John

But regardless of the above, your point about using RSID for beaconing is of
value and will be looked at.
Links to the above available on request.

Alternatively there is a copy of this quickstart.pdf file in the downloads
section referenced below.
The main web site also contains an FAQs section.

Agree with Simon, great cross platform program, great new mode.
But I think PSKmail should also get a mention for the expansion of
it's network in Europe and North America, in particular due to the
persistence of it's author (Rein in Particular).

Rein could give you more details (or correct my understanding) on
Pskmail and the new developments.
Hope this helps. All the best,

er at least as implemented in fldigi. Not sure if it is the
permanent FEC but is seems quite robust in my tests between VK and ZL.
Have you had any comments or request for implementation in your
software or is it just too new, or not different enough?

calibration differences? My guest is that in the least category we
should find the psk and ifsk (e.g. Domino) modes and in the most
sensitive category MFSK modes. Is that a correct assesment?
Thanks, John (VK2ETA)
I had the same problem, that is deleted the .fldigi folder and it
didn't run (in fact it launched, but exited after a couple of second
without any message).
It took me some time to realise that the Hamlib library needs to be
updated to version 1.2.6 for fldigi 2.X to work. (see
