Thanks jcglt I was mainly things like the audio that I was concerned about. Some of the software seems to need a very close relationship with the sound card and I was worried about having that extra layer of virtualisation in there. I don't think I run any modes where torn-around time is critical

Hi Gareth, As Jean-Claude and Mike have mentioned above it is likely not a 100% success rate. Here is my experience: Host OS Ubuntu, guest Windows XP run under VMware: poor results in digital modes programs as mentioned by Jean-Claude. Issue is timing accuracy due to the virtual machine being
