Yess! OK this is a temporary solution but at least I can send now. I have my laptop sending and my tablet, but for some reason I can't get my phone sending. It's not even hitting the server. I even tried using IP address instead of host. AT must be interfering somehow. I'm

OK in theory you will get this and I'm sending this from Tunderbird. I think this will work I had to open up sntps on the firewall, and than a da...@thekramers.net entry in virtual_users for the authentication to work. I was able to send email to my gmail account this way! On 04/02/2016

Here's what you need to get outgoing working through VZ FIOS: Set up stunnel: > cat /etc/stunnel/smtp.verizon.net.conf > [ req ] > client = yes > accept = 2525 > connect = smtp.verizon.net:465 Then set up your mail server to use (in my example) localhost:2525 as an outgoing 'smart host'.

Yep. I'm working on that now. For some reason when I try to telnet to 25/465 from my house to that server it times out. Not sure if Verizon is blocking it or my Linode server is, but when I use lsof | grep LISTEN, it's listening. I need to find another way outside my house of trying to get to

I actually thought of that and tried changing Thunderbird to use outgoing.verizon.net and got "invalid username or password". Half an hour with their tech support showed nothing but how clueless they were, but this is not a common issue. I did get a number to call for next level support (I

Quick hack for outgoing mail: configure your home MTA to use outgoing.verizon.net as its smart relay. You could also configure your clients to use Google's outgoing server to relay your mail. No quick hack for incoming mail. This requires changes to your MX records and these can take upwards of a
