I've recently moved my music onto my new NAS (Synology DiskStation
101g+). The NAS is set to spin down the HD after 5 minutes of
inactivity. Once this is done, the HD should not spin up again unless
something accesses it. Likewise, the NAS's internal fan should not kick

I've found the MC community in general unhelpful and even rude. I use
it, but only really as a tag editor. It's a nice piece of software but
the politics behind it are a PITA (for example, no native FLAC support
because one guy doesn't like it).

I searched for both the files you mentioned and neither of them exist
on the NAS. (slimserver.pref exists in the server subdirectory and

Probably a confused user :-).
Software firewalls block traffic from programs unless authorized by
you. You authorized slimserver once no doubt, but when you install a
new version, the firewall picks up on that and considers the program
new..thus requiring you to authorize the program again

I had it working on Slimserver 6.1 which leads me to believe it's an
issue with the newer version. I've tried for hours changing settings
but to no avail. I'm going to revert back to 6.1 and see if that fixes
the problem. I'm not convinced this is WMA voice bug...it's too easy to
blame microsoft
