Ok, I'll vote for a self-contained DIN-sized car stereo Squeezebox with
a built-in 100GB drive running slimserver and small, cool-running
digital amps from Tripath.
100GB would be plenty of space, especially since in a noisy car FLAC
would be overkill. You could get by with high-quality mp3/wma/
36 (in 3 days) and female.

Can someone please explain why Shoutcast stations are not persistent? It
seems like no sooner than I add one to my favorites, I have to update it
because the URL changes. I've stopped adding them to my favorites and
now navigate to the station every time I want to listen to it.

Just got my first squeezebox (wireless) and am really excited! However,
I have MAC address filtering turned on at my wireless router. This means
I must whitelist the squeezebox MAC address at the router before it can
connect to the WLAN.

Hi,
Just got my brand new SB3 shipped from US. Pretty quickly hit a problem
though:
When on Squeezebox Home and playing any music, after about 30 secs of
play, device stops responding to remote commands, after about 5 sec the
screen goes completely blank, after another 10-15 sec it starts playin

Can anybody recommend some CD burning software? Problem is it needs to
handle both MP3 and FLAC.
I have been using dbpower AMP CD Writer, but have had some problems
with it.

I don't know the technical details either but regarding Icecast it's
just the server side of the streaming. Then you need an encoder that
actually produces the stream accesset through icecast.
