them, I do think some of Slim's CUSTOMERS do have a point.
Some users bought this sytem to just rip their CD's and start listening
to music. They did not expect to become a sysadmin.

If my SB tries to play a track from a Rhapsody client no longer running,

I used tc10_1.dd but the x and y axis are interchanged when using the
touchscreen. The sound is also not working. I can see spikes in xmms
when playing mp3 but there is no sound output.

In Australia the issue of releases is significant. If a customer
purchased a squeezebox and the software clearly doesn't run properly
i.e. duplicates entries etc, the distributor in Australia would be
liable under consumer law. The customer could demand a full refund etc
etc.

I have very recently tried to install slimserver 6.3.0 on the LS II
(with mipsel processor) with openlink 0.52b, Devtools and
MipselSlimServerModules installed, and have been encountering series of
issues.
1) the slimserver.pl does not start, because there seems to be a perl
module
people don't want to screw around with beta software and installing
...that's why everybody's running after that latest Windows XYZ beta
release which makes MS talk about breaking the internet due to demand...
People just LOVE beta software if it's announced loud enough :-)

It's also possible it's a fan - some computers have heat sensitive fans
so when the rescan pushes the cpu load up you hear more fan noise. Just
a thought...

Actually the NAS bundle has sold quite well, and apparently not to the
detriment of single SB3s. However, you're right, it does make the home
page a bit stupid. Of course in due time we will replace it with other
promos/bundles/announcements that have broader appeal.

out and got one of his own. Last night and today he ripped 600+ CDs in
the WMA PRO format which is apparently a new format with the Beta
