Short answer is no you can cannot; SlimServer needs to be in place
unless you are using the Squeeze Network. Long answer is you CAN use
amaroK to be your interface to control your Squeezebox. Here's how:
you need to output amaroK to a Shoutcast compatible stream and then use
SlimServer to tune

transporter remote direct from the US at the same time (which arrived
first due to the SB3 being out of stock at the time and quick service
from Slim Devices!)

Again, if your modem has a router built-in (many do), then you can do
what you want to do. wrt54gl serves as WAP and switch, your modem
serves as dhcp server, router, and internet gateway. Let me know if
you have any configuration questions.

Yes azinck3 is right, if your modem has router capabilities and multiple
ports built in, it would work fine.
I keep forgetting that, my modem only has one port and no routing
capabilities.

not merely clearing themselves: they're deleting themselves. Only the
name of the playlist remains. When I try to play a playlist on the

Hi All,
looks like it was a couple of corrupt MP3-files that made all the
troubles!. These corrupt files was able to crash both Winamp + Windows
Media Player.
Deleted the files and everything is sweet :-)

It turns out the playlist files themselves were still intact.. but for
some reason SlimServer thought they were empty.
Ended up blanking out my slimserver.pref to resolve it..

I have found some references to using the Nokia 770 as a nice remote
interface for the Squeezebox however I wonder if it works with the

-t' and then aborts if there is an error. It could then output an

saying Orange Alert!. If there isn't an error, it could go ahead and

Unfortunetly Girder is not ported to the Nokia 770, plus since the
Nokia 770 isn't a remote it doesn't have IR or RF signals.

say 'starting slimserver.. ' or something to that effect but when the
browser loads, it says 'unable to connect'.
I'm running two servers, one at home and one at our studio facility.
I've been having problems playing files purchased from Audio Lunchbox
(audiolunchbox.com) which encodes all of their files @ 192kVBR using
LAME. iTunes plays any of the files without issue, and SlimServer
plays MOST of them,
In past releases (e.g. 6.3) I have been able to drag my favorite iTunes
streams in to a iTunes playlist which I can then access from my
Squeezebox. This ability no longer works in 6.5.1 of the Slimserver
SW. It simply shows an empty playlist.
Any ideas or information on a patch/fix?

I will take a good look at Apache, I'm assuming you are
recommending using it as a HTTP server. Before I go that route I would
like to ask if you know how computationally intensive that program is,
meaning will it utilize alot of resources ( RAM , CPU usage ).

DualCore with 2GB RAM) and a Zyxel Router over 54MBit W-LAN.
All music is either FLAC or

accept a network share (whether or not mapped to a local drive
letter).
What am I doing wrong?

try the unc path (\\server\path\to\folder)
you'll also need to make sure that slimserver is running as a user with
permissions to access the network drive.
if that fails, check the faq or search the forum for mapped drive and
