It seems to be my ZoneAlarm firewall. If I stop it, all is fine,

picks up DHCP or works with static IP on this old setup.
You should try a factory reset: unplug your SB2, press and hold down the
ADD button on the remote while you plug it in again. This will wipe all
settings but often fixes connection problems.
