I'm fairly sure there's no wy of changing the buffering behaviour, but you should not be hearing glitches between tracks. First check that crossfade is turned off. Also confirm that you are not synchronising players. If neither of these is the case, then there is some sort of problem. It

You'll need to give a few more details like what OS you're using ? If Windows - just stop Slimserver, delete the Slimserver/Server/Cache folder entirely and then start Slimserver back up. It sounds to me from the little information you've given like you might have the setting Group Compilation

i would suggest using the newest nightly, it works pretty well for me, and fixes a lot of my issues. also, SS does not handle tags well imo, but apparently you can use mp3tag or similar programs, and if you clean up your own tags (to play by SS's arbitrary rules) it will work out correctly. --

Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. SlimServer 6.5.1. Windows Vista Firewall and avast! 4.7 antivirus. I added slim.exe, mysqld.exe, and scanner.exe to the firewall exceptions. Also set the SlimServer service to Automatic (Delayed Start). 6.5.1 is running OK. The SlimServer Tray Tool still doesn’t

Not sure what's going on here; some m4a's that used to playback fine on my Squeezebox 3 no longer play - they just lock up the player. I can play them in iTunes fine, and I emailed a track to a friend and he can play them fine on his computer via his iTunes. These are not Fairplay locked
