I'm using my SqueezeBox as a wireless bridge for my XBox (original
version). Everything works perfectly, except that when I power on the
XBox, the SqueezeBox looses its connection the screen goes blank.

If they're identical versions, then they bring the same firmware version - it's
part of the SC build. Latest is
Slim/Logitech don't talk about new products.
But it seems unlikely since it isn't really in keeping with the product
philosophy. Amps are a subjective items, different people like different
qualities of different devices. How amps interact with the speaker
systems also are a matter of taste.

just updated my software (ran software update, already had leopard

thats not a plugin.
If its a perl module pluginname.pm then you can just put it in the
plugins directory if you are using 6.5.x

I think you're right. Sometimes the test shows 100% on 4000kps but then
can't get it on 2000kps a few moments later.
also wireless signal strength is erratic.

Some time back I bought a logitch squeezebox, and installed the slim
server software onto my mac. Great. Its a fun little device, works
great except for my wireless internet and router setup.
Here is the issue. My wifi router is in one room, the squeezebox is in

It appears in the Internet radio list below SHOUTCast.
Seem to be able to select it only from SB remote, have to use computer
SC7 to navigate.

Two small points while I have the floor:
1. I read somewhere on the slimdevices site about SS that there was no
need under version 6.5.4 to rescan a musicbase managed through iTunes
presumably after changes and/or additions. I am using 6.5.5 five SB2+3s
and I never came across this

home running SC 7 and streaming to Winamp at work for weeks without any

Winamp will still connect, and I can see the SC web interface. However,

which is convenient at the moment as I can just pull it straight of the
NAS box. Moving and renaming the artwork is more of a problem. I guess

Recently did a software update and now my slimserver doesn't work
I get the following when I hit 'web access'
cant open the page http://localhost:9000/ because it could not
connect to the server localhost.
If I go to just 'http://localhost' I get my default start page so I
know that
I just got my SB3 and it works well. Except that the response time of
the unit is very slow. Hitting a button on the remote can take
multiple seconds before the display updates. Also, any text that has
to scroll is very jerky and slow. It is as if the processor on the SB3
is pegged. Any way
I had the same problem with a SqueezeBox that I bought for my dad.
Unfortunately the only solution I could find was to revert to
SlimServer 6.5. Try downgrading and see if that solves the problem -
at least that way you know there's nothing wrong with the hardware.

You're doing it correctly by entering a manual address, i.e.
192.168.1.50. Why not set it to 192.168.1.100 and enter the router
address (I assume it's 192.168.1.1) and subnet 255.255.255.0.
The router is smart enough to 'see' that there's something at .100 and
should bypass it for any other

DVD's ripped as ISOs and so far the NAS (Thecus N5200) has been able to
do 4 video streams concurrently without skipping/stuttering (one to PCH
