Just to provide an update, I performed a factory reset on the SB2 and
since re-entering all the network info it seems to be running fine
again.
I'll probably jinx myself here but so far its gone for 45 minutes
without any issues.

An album is playing, and whilst in the middle of a song, playback
abruptly skips ahead to a random point in the song, or to the next
track. This is not reproducible -- it seems to happen regardless of
which track. Not sure if it happens for all formats.

I'm working with XP Pro and want to install SqueezeCenter. I tried
version 7.1 and now 7.2 but have still the same problem.
The TrayIcon says the whole time SqueezeCenter Starting but it
doesn't start!

into the same setup and works fine. Swapped this one into the others
setup also no sound.
Thought it may be a SqueezeCentre problem with the settings of this
player, so I tried SqueezeNetwork, and still no luck.

Uninstall anything to do with SC.
Shut down PC
Restart PC
Reinstall 7.2
if problem persists, (temporarily) disable your anti-virus software and
retry to eliminate that.

Interestingly, I could not get SC to start until I UNINSTALLED the

not anymore. New versions of Squeezecenter do not seem to be tested
thouroughly enough before they are released. In fact, Squeezecenter is
just like a banana: it ripens at the customer's.

I went to play a Rhapsody channel on both a Boom and a Duet this AM, and
get an authentication error. SqueezeCenter is running just fine - is
this a centralized issue at Slim that needs to be addressed? It is
also working on my laptop using the Rhapsody client, so it seems
Slim-related.

Which main menu? You can reorder items on the SB3 Boom via
Settings/Player/Menu, I don't think you can reorder the items on the

You can run SC on your basement machine and control it from your laptop.
Just point the laptop's browser to http://basement-ip:9000/classic/ ,
substituting your gaming rig's IP for basement-ip. However, if you're
loading up 500 items to a page, then the constraint could be the
computer (browser)

Have been a happy SB3 user for 2 years or so. Recently my one SB3
played music at extremely high volume

This morning my SB3 doesn't make any sound. It seems to be playing
(the VU meters twiddle and all
I've had that happen to corrupt tracks. There may be something wrong
with your files, or something on your computer/wifi is causing the
files to play corrupted.
There is a tool to test FLAC files for errors. You may also want to
try plugging your Squeezebox into ethernet just for testing.

It kind of works I guess for REW, as you may have some kind of clue as to the

i constantly had rhapsody problems with my duet system. Slacker,
pandora, sirius, internet radio, my library works everytime, but
rhapsody was always a hit and miss... i gave up and got rid of the
service. I'll stick with Napster and pray someday it'll be with
squeezecenter.
