Ok I think I figured out my main problem. The API service can't run
while it is doing the analysis. Stopping the analysis allowed the API
service to run again. No clear error message to explain this situation

I am having a heck of a time with MusicIP and there seems to be very few
recent posts or activity on it.
The MusicIP site only has download for 1.8.1b even though there are
threads over a year old about 1.9 beta versions. The forums site seems
down and I am unable to register to download the 1.9
Yep, final version of 7.4.2. Maybe I just need to wait longer for
things to refresh. It played a track 1, and when it proceeded to track
2 it named the track correctly but track 1 reverted to (X_OF_Y). Not
the end of the world, but makes it hard to keep track of what is in the

AAC requires transcoding by the server for Boom and receiver. There is
also some Flash protocol handling done by the server. WMA streams are
streamed directly to the player and so place no extra load on the
server.
It is possible you had a server load problem or AAC streams are not as

I've now changed the BBC iPlayer setting in Squeezebox Server to
"Prefer WMA streams - Enable" and the stream hasn't dropped since I
changed it - so it looks as if you've sent me down the correct
troubleshooting path.
As you've probably guessed, I'm no expert, but is this because AAC
takes
As its AAC, I assume you are using the iPlayer plugin. If so go to the
server web settings page for the plugin (under settings, advanced) and
select "prefer wma"

So, now streaming in flac. Changed router to switch it to G only.
Changed channel to 9. At the moment, that's an arbitary guess, yet to
investigate network traffic properly. Seems ok so far, boom seems
snappier to use to.

The GUI used to have a pull down in Favorites to assign Presets, but no
more. :(

After this I have another problem with my Transporter. It plays fine

Please try turning off mp3 transcoding. You won't extend anything
through that any WiFi coverage will be good enough for a single flac
stream.
Scheduling on windows isn't particularly good and while transcoding to
mp3 will not bring your server down it can be enough to kill sync
timing.

Do I understand correctly that you transcode to mp3 on the fly? Why?
Please try to transcode to flac instead, should use much less CPU and
give you better quality at the same time.
I think your sync issue could be due to the server simply having too
much load.

*any* sync issues at all, ever, under any version of SqzCtr.
Now, having added a wireless Boom, sync is awful. Using LAME to go to

And also in most cases (single stream to one player) the stream is not
proxied by the server, it goes straight to the player, even if control
comands and displays things are issued by the server.
