The module has no flash or eeprom on it, the bootloader must reside on external media. For this module that is either a SD card, or a serial EEPROM on the I2C bus. The wandboard carrier does not have the EEPROM, nor am I planning on having one on mine. The processor cannot do a raw boot off a USB

On the wifi, the people that have been playing with their wandboards for awhile are indicating that the wifi on the dual core module works well. I the software guys can get it doing what we need to do then this will be the official solution. The connection will be a pigtail that screws into a

For me, squeeze box and server where always used with my local music in my flat only. So I don't need any integration into social media (don't use them anyway) and for that matter, don't use any on-line service. So if possible, the software should be as flexible as possible e.g. a core module

Just checked the large capacitor and it's reading 12 volts, the small one right next to the daughter board reads 3.3.v. Have no idea whether those are correct voltages but neither are leaking or bulged indicating failure. Looks like I'm SOL. :( May try and sell it for parts -- the screen and

It's a real shame that the Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5 uses the HiFace (1) chipset for USB audio input, which is no good for Linux, as this would be pretty much perfect otherwise as it also offers LVDS I2S output which is really hard to find on other interfaces. This apparently will change in

I saw in another thread here (the EDO one maybe?) that there is a driver available for the HiFace 1 on Linux now and somebody compiled it for the Touch. If that's the case then this could possibly work on the Off-Ramp and other interfaces/DACs using that chipset. That would be good news.
